We have some wonderful events happening at SCP to close out our fantastic 2023-2024 season and get ready to jump into the 2024-2025 season! So grab your calendar and get ready to spend some time supporting a great community theater downriver.

 

The first thing you’ll want to do is snag tickets to our season closer, Neil Simon’s “Laughter on the 23rd Floor.” This hilarious show features the talents of Daniel Bartrum, Breann Blanton, Donald Corbin, Domingo Guzman, Kenny Konaszewski, Isabella Kroczaleski, Mattie Raybaud, Mike Stec, and Conrad Szybisty. Directed by Sydnee Corbin, assisted by Cortney Markham, and produced by Stephen Phillps. This show does contain strong language.

 

 

 

Next up we have AUDITIONS for our upcoming summer show, “Still Life With Iris.” This show is being produced as a family show, so the cast will be comprised of both children and adults. Try your hand at acting and audition next Monday or Tuesday at the Corner Playhouse. More audition information can be found on our website.

 

 

 

And don’t forget to stop by STEP Thrift Store and Donation Center before the month of April is over. STEP will be donating a percentage of every sale this month to SCP. 

 

As we gear up for the next season we are in search of directors for next year’s productions! Please submit your proposals by Monday, May 6th to be considered. 

 

 

We also have our next bottle drive scheduled! If you’ve been holding onto those bottles and cans through the winter, come drop them off at the SCP Corner Playhouse on May 29th!

 

 

Last, but certainly not least, save the date for our end of season celebration! We can’t start the new season without celebrating all that we have accomplished during the 2023-2024 season. We will be holding our celebration on June 7th! More information to come!

Hello, Friends of SCP!

 

It’s that time again! Gather up your bottles and cans and drop them off this Saturday, August 12 from 12pm-4pm at The Corner Playhouse, 12671 Dix Toledo Rd in Southgate. If you’re having a grad party or other summer gathering, shoot us a message and we’ll stop by and pick them up! You can email southgatecommunityplayers@gmail.com ATTN: Bottle Drive to schedule pickup. 

 

 

 

 

And don’t forget to mark your calendars for the first show of the Main Stage season! The classic Steel Magnolias takes the stage this October. Tickets are currently available for purchase on our website!

Hello, Friends of SCP!

 

We have two wonderful events coming up to help us kick off our new season! We hope to see you there!

 

This Wednesday is the Family Fiesta hosted by SCP held in the Grecian Center Back Garden Pavilion located at 16300 Dix Toledo Rd, Southgate, MI 48195. 

 

It has been FAR too long since we’ve had a get-together with ALL of our SCP family!!! Bring your kids and come join us for a taco/fajita bar, karaoke, and great conversation! $18 for adults/$16 for kids under 10. We are also fast approaching the first Young Peoples’ Theater show of the season and tickets are selling FAST!

 

Come support our wonderful youth program during one of their 4 performances in August. We are currently 2 tickets away from selling out opening night and only have 12 tickets left for the Saturday, August 19 matinee performance at 3:00pm. Tickets can be purchased on our website at the link below.
